Animal Scientist
Job Description
A leading agricultural organization in Nigeria is seeking a highly experienced Animal Scientist to lead innovative research and practical implementation in livestock production. The successful candidate will focus on advancing sustainable breeding and productivity strategies using scientific and data-driven methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed research on animal genetics, health, and performance
- Design and implement effective breeding and feeding programs
- Analyze performance data and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with veterinary and nutrition teams to enhance animal welfare
- Stay updated on current livestock science trends and apply relevant practices
Requirements:
- MSc in Animal Science or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years’ hands-on and/or research experience in livestock production
- Strong knowledge of animal genetics, reproduction, and production systems
- Proven ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports
- Excellent leadership and team collaboration skills
Additional Information:
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute or be willing to relocate to Ogun State
- At least 8 years of practical field experience is mandatory
