Software Engineer Intern
Job Description
A firm is seeking enthusiastic, technically capable, and customer-focused Software Engineer Interns to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in software development, troubleshooting, and technical support. The successful candidate will support the development and maintenance of software solutions, debug and resolve technical issues, attend to customers requiring technical assistance, and perform other technical functions as assigned.
Salary: ₦120,000 – ₦150,000 monthly
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications and solutions.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software and technical issues.
- Investigate system errors, identify root causes, and support the implementation of appropriate solutions.
- Attend to customers and users experiencing technical challenges and provide timely support.
- Respond to customer technical enquiries professionally and escalate complex issues where necessary.
- Support the testing of new features, applications, and system upgrades.
- Monitor application performance and report identified bugs or recurring issues.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, processes, and support activities.
- Collaborate with software engineers and other members of the technology team on assigned projects.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with system configuration, integration, and other technical functions as required.
- Stay updated on relevant programming tools, technologies, and software development practices.
- Perform other technical and software-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NYSC Corps Members seeking relevant work experience; or
- Candidates who have completed NYSC with up to one (1) year of relevant experience.
- Basic understanding of software development principles and programming concepts.
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, PHP, or similar technologies.
- Basic understanding of databases, APIs, web applications, and software testing will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git is desirable.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot technical and software-related issues.
- Strong interest in learning and building a career in software engineering and technology.
