Job Description

IOTA Group is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join its field execution team for advanced geotechnical and foundation engineering projects. This role is strongly execution-focused and suited to professionals with hands-on site supervision experience across complex soil improvement and deep foundation techniques, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications for accurate field implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure proper on-site execution of geotechnical works, including:

  1. Perforated Vertical Drains (PVDs)
  2. Dynamic Compaction and soil improvement techniques
  3. Deep Soil Mixing (DSM)
  4. Jet Grouting
  5. Sheet Piling
  6. Tie Rod Anchors
  7. Combi Wall revetments
  8. Interlocking contiguous tubular steel piles
  • Interpret and implement geotechnical designs, construction drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate and monitor soil laboratory and field testing activities, including CPT and SPT operations.
  • Oversee daily site activities to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve site-related technical challenges promptly.
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, test results, and material usage logs.
  • Participate in technical meetings and contribute to execution planning and constructability reviews.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ field-based experience in geotechnical and foundation engineering works.
  • Proven hands-on execution experience with soil improvement and deep foundation techniques, not limited to design responsibilities.
  • Strong practical knowledge of DSM, Jet Grouting, PVDs, Dynamic Compaction, Sheet Piles, Tie Rods, Combi Walls, and tubular steel pile systems.
  • Ability to interpret CPT and SPT results and effectively coordinate testing activities.
  • Strong capability in reading and understanding engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and technical specifications.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English for effective communication with international teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and site management skills.
  • Sound understanding of construction site safety standards and QA/QC procedures.
