Job Description
Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited is seeking a qualified Operations and Maintenance Supervisor (Distribution) to oversee maintenance activities across electrical distribution systems. The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient power delivery through effective maintenance planning, team leadership, and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers
- Respond promptly to system disturbances, outages, and emergencies, coordinating restoration activities to minimize downtime
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are carried out in line with safety standards, electricity regulations, and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment condition, incidents, and corrective actions
- Prepare and submit routine and ad-hoc reports on maintenance performance and equipment reliability
- Lead, supervise, and evaluate maintenance technicians, providing guidance and on-the-job training
- Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely and efficient execution of maintenance activities
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Lead Operations and Maintenance
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- B.Eng or HND in an Engineering discipline
- COREN-accredited PGD and a Master’s degree in the same or related engineering field
- Professional certifications in electrical systems or maintenance management are an added advantage
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within power distribution
- Strong understanding of electricity regulations, policies, and energy loss prevention measures
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and familiarity with SCADA systems
- Solid knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements in the power sector
