IT Asset Officer

Job Description

An organization in Lagos is seeking a detail oriented and proactive IT Asset Officer to oversee the full lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets. This role focuses on maintaining accurate asset records, ensuring compliance with licensing and internal policies, and supporting cost effective use of technology resources across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain an up to date inventory of all IT hardware, software, and peripherals
• Track the full asset lifecycle from procurement and deployment to retirement and disposal
• Coordinate asset allocation, movement, retrieval, and reassignment across departments
• Ensure software license compliance and support internal or external audits
• Prepare periodic asset reports, summaries, and analytics for management review
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Procurement teams on asset planning and budgeting
• Monitor asset performance and recommend upgrades, replacements, or optimizations
• Ensure compliance with established IT asset management policies and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years experience in IT asset management, inventory control, procurement, or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of IT hardware, peripherals, and software licensing models
• Hands on experience with IT Asset Management tools and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework is an added advantage
