Audit Officer

Job Description

A reputable company in the manufacturing industry is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Audit Officer to support its Internal Audit function. The role focuses on strengthening internal controls, improving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting effective risk management processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing the annual risk-based internal audit plan
• Conduct internal audits in line with approved audit programs and established audit standards
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance frameworks
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards
• Prepare clear, concise, and objective audit reports with actionable recommendations
• Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions
• Maintain comprehensive working papers and audit documentation for compliance and reference purposes
• Perform ad hoc, investigative, and special audits where necessary
• Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders during audit reviews and inspections
• Promote internal control best practices and risk awareness across departments

Requirements

• Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline (minimum of Lower Credit)
• Professional certification such as ACA or ACCA is mandatory
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in internal auditing, preferably within the manufacturing industry
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge of internal control frameworks, audit procedures, and risk management practices
• High level of integrity, objectivity, and professionalism
• Proficiency in audit software/tools and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills
