Bergstein Hospital, a modern and fast-growing healthcare institution under Syx-Brij Nigeria Limited, is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Officer to join its clinical team in Ikorodu, Lagos. The role requires a highly skilled professional committed to delivering quality patient care, maintaining ethical standards, and supporting efficient hospital operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions
- Provide general medical consultations and manage both outpatient and inpatient care
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic test results
- Prescribe medications and develop effective treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date medical records
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, laboratory scientists, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and ethical standards
- Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and continuous medical education
Requirements and Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
- Valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council
- Completion of NYSC or possession of an exemption certificate
- Minimum of 2–3 years post-NYSC clinical experience
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience in a private hospital setting (preferred)
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, BLS, or related clinical training (advantage)
- Strong teamwork and leadership abilities
