System and Network Security Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Job Description

A reputable organization in the energy sector is seeking a skilled System and Network Security Specialist to safeguard its IT infrastructure. The role focuses on protecting enterprise systems, networks, and endpoints by proactively identifying threats, responding to incidents, and implementing strong security measures across the organization’s digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across systems, networks, and endpoints
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats, anomalies, and incidents in real time
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
• Configure and manage firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools
• Implement network segmentation and enforce access control policies
• Ensure systems are hardened, securely configured, and regularly updated with patches

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in IT or cybersecurity roles
• Strong knowledge of network security concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS
• Hands-on experience with security tools including SIEM, EDR, NAC, and vulnerability scanners
• Experience working with Windows Server, Linux, and Unix systems, including system hardening and patch management
• Proven ability to secure enterprise systems, networks, and endpoints
• CCNP Security or CCNA Security certification is an added advantage
