Job Description
Bracken Media Solutions Limited is hiring a Chinese Translator to support accurate communication between Chinese and English across written and spoken formats. This role is ideal for a language professional with strong cultural awareness and attention to detail, capable of preserving meaning, tone, and context in every translation.
Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time (On-site)
Salary: N500,000 – N600,000 / Month
Key Responsibilities
- Translate written documents and verbal communication between Chinese and English with high accuracy
- Review and proofread translated materials to ensure clarity, consistency, and correctness
- Maintain cultural and linguistic appropriateness in all translations
- Work closely with internal teams to facilitate smooth cross-language communication
- Assist in creating and adapting multilingual content for different audiences
- Support internal communication where cross-cultural understanding is required
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken Chinese and English
- Proven experience in translation, proofreading, or language-related roles
- Excellent grammar, communication, and linguistic skills
- Solid understanding of cultural nuances for context-sensitive translations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with different teams
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Familiarity with translation tools or software is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Language Studies, or a related field is preferred
- HSK certification or its equivalent is required
Working Conditions
- Full-time, on-site role based in Lagos Island
- Flexible hours may be required for urgent translation tasks or meetings
