Job Description

OOPL Foundation is seeking a skilled and experienced Energy Manager to oversee energy operations and drive efficiency across its facilities. The role focuses on optimizing energy consumption, reducing operational costs, and supporting sustainable energy initiatives while ensuring reliable power supply for critical activities and events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to optimize energy usage and reduce operational costs
  • Lead the transition to cleaner energy solutions while maintaining uninterrupted power supply
  • Conduct energy audits and analyze consumption patterns across facilities
  • Implement energy conservation initiatives to achieve measurable cost savings
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of generators, HVAC systems, chillers, and renewable energy systems
  • Manage solar and inverter projects and coordinate with utility providers including IBEDC
  • Ensure compliance with national energy regulations, NESREA guidelines, and ISO 50001 standards
  • Prepare monthly energy performance reports and budget forecasts for management
  • Train staff on energy efficiency practices and develop standard operating procedures

Requirements

  • B.Eng in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering
  • COREN registration is mandatory; CEM certification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in energy management, preferably within a large organization
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission codes and energy efficiency laws
  • Proficiency in Excel and energy monitoring tools with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent project management and vendor negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve power-related issues efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
