Job Description

Unified Payments Services Limited is hiring a Business Relationship Officer to support merchant onboarding, relationship management, and digital payment operations. The role is ideal for candidates with experience in fintech, customer support, merchant acquisition, or digital payment services who can build strong client relationships and ensure smooth operational support for merchants.

Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos

Responsibilities

• Assist with onboarding merchants across retail, SME, and enterprise categories.
• Support merchant account setup, documentation processing, KYC compliance, and service activation.
• Maintain regular communication with merchants to ensure satisfaction and effective use of payment solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams including operations, finance, and technology for payment device deployment such as POS, SoftPOS, and QR solutions.
• Monitor merchant transactions, settlement activities, and operational performance.
• Resolve merchant complaints and inquiries while escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Maintain accurate merchant records, engagement reports, and onboarding updates.
• Generate reports on merchant activity, onboarding progress, and operational challenges.
• Educate merchants on digital payment solutions and provide onboarding demonstrations where required.
• Gather merchant feedback and provide insights that can improve service delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant post-NYSC experience in merchant acquisition, fintech, customer support, or digital payments.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Good understanding of digital payment products and merchant services.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple merchant accounts effectively.
• Proficiency in reporting, documentation, and operational tracking.
