Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job Description

A leading organization in the logistics and operations sector is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer to oversee business operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will provide executive leadership, drive operational efficiency, improve organizational performance, and support long-term business growth initiatives. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and requires a results-driven professional with strong leadership and execution capabilities.

Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: N50,000,000 – N54,000,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations across multiple business locations
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals
• Drive performance management initiatives to improve productivity and profitability
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control processes
• Identify and implement process improvements for operational efficiency
• Monitor business performance metrics and prepare executive reports
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of strategic objectives
• Support business expansion and growth initiatives through operational leadership
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, policies, and regulations
• Build and maintain a strong performance-driven organizational culture

Requirements

• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is required
• Minimum of 12–15 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
• Proven track record in operational management and strategic leadership
• Strong business execution and performance management skills
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities
• Experience in logistics or haulage operations is an added advantage
• PRINCE2 or PMI certification is mandatory
• Strong analytical, budgeting, and organizational skills
