Job Description

EHA Clinics is seeking a qualified Medical Doctor to provide high-quality, patient-centered clinical care. The role involves conducting consultations, taking medical histories, performing examinations, diagnosing and treating patients, reviewing laboratory results, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person and telemedicine consultations, including reviewing laboratory results and addressing routine and emergency medical complaints.
  • Take patients’ medical histories, perform physical examinations, assess symptoms, make diagnoses, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide and oversee clinical care in line with established clinical guidelines and approved treatment protocols.
  • Refer patients to supervising doctors, specialists, hospitals, or other healthcare providers when clinically appropriate.
  • Review and act appropriately on laboratory results, referrals, and other patient correspondence.
  • Provide clinical guidance and instructions to nurses and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, hospital specialists, consultants, insurance providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in preventative healthcare services, community health activities, and patient education initiatives.
  • Supervise and support medical, nursing, intern, and student staff where required.
  • Conduct occasional home visits for patients registered under the Membership Scheme.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care and complete required clinical, legal, and administrative records.
  • Participate in clinical development, research activities, educational meetings, and initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Requirements
  • Medical degree such as MBBS, MBChB, MD, or DO from a recognized university and in accordance with the requirements of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Completion of compulsory internship and at least post-NYSC experience.
  • Current registration and valid practicing licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Ability to apply established clinical guidelines and standard treatment protocols in patient care.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and patient-management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based medical practice.
