Head of Programs
Job Description
Chess in Slums Africa is currently looking for a Head of Programs to lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of our programmes for children and young people across underserved communities and public schools. This is a leadership role for someone who can bring structure, strong programme management and strategic thinking to a growing programme portfolio. As part of the Management Team, the Head of Programs will lead the Programs Unit, including volunteers, and work closely with other Department Heads to ensure effective programme delivery.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Lead programmes from planning to close-out
- Manage programme teams, volunteers, facilitators and stakeholders
- Oversee programme data, monitoring, evaluation and reporting
- Manage timelines, budgets, resources and programme risks
- Support proposals, partnerships and organisational planning
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 3+ years’ experience in programme/project management
- Experience managing programmes from planning through implementation and evaluation
- Strong leadership, communication, data analysis and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Experience in nonprofit, education, youth development or social impact is an advantage
