Job Description

Coca-Cola HBC is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer that ensures reliable and sustainable electrical and automation systems of all bottling and utilities equipment in the plant. The role is responsible for timely troubleshooting and repairs, maintaining automation standards, supporting projects, and ensuring the availability and reliability of automation equipment.

Locations: Benin 

Key Requirements

  • B.Sc./HND in Electrical/Electronics/Automation Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in automation
  • Efficient knowledge of SAP, Siemens & PLCs, Danfoss, Omron, Sensors, PLC programming skills etc.
  • Adequate knowledge of bottling technology & FMCG experience.
  • Experience in execution projects such as line commissioning, annual maintenance planning.
  • Operational planning expertise. Understanding of financial impact of decisions.
  • Ability to think in terms of functional sustainability rather than short term wins
  • Ability to implement, disseminate & enforce safety, health & environment policy
  • Open-minded, intellectually curious & flexible
  • Excellent communicator & people management skills

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and high-quality repairs on all bottling and utilities equipment in the event of electrical or automation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with plant automation operating procedures and standards.
  • Support project implementation by ensuring adherence to automation requirements for both new and existing projects.
  • Utilize condition monitoring tools to assess automation equipment and develop corrective action plans (CAPs) for identified issues.
  • Maintain availability of essential automation parts and establish appropriate reorder levels.
  • Oversee maintenance contracts related to inspection and coding machines, ensuring adherence to contract terms.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions for equipment and process related non-conformances.
  • Ensure regular updates and availability of user program backups for all automation equipment.
  • Maintain up-to-date electrical documentation for all plant equipment.
  • Perform routine audits on electrical controls to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assess skills gaps among electrical/automation technicians and coordinate training to align with industry trends.
  • Submit timely reports on the electrical/automation status of plant equipment.
  • Contribute to business planning for productivity improvements and cost efficiency.
  • Contribute to the preparation and control of the maintenance budget, ensuring
  • adequate funds for all routines and initiatives aligned with strategic and operational plans.
