Experian is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Optimization Engineer (FinOps) to help monitor, analyze, and optimize AWS cloud usage and spending across multiple applications and environments. This role combines cloud engineering expertise with financial operations principles to improve cloud efficiency while maintaining performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze AWS cloud consumption, spending patterns, and usage trends across applications and environments.
- Identify and implement cloud cost optimization strategies, including rightsizing resources, storage optimization, scheduling, and eliminating unused services.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and application teams to recommend cost-efficient cloud architectures and operational improvements.
- Review infrastructure designs and cloud deployments to ensure AWS services are utilized effectively and responsibly.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and performance metrics that provide visibility into cloud costs, savings opportunities, and spending anomalies.
- Support FinOps initiatives, including cloud governance, forecasting, tagging strategies, budgeting, and accountability practices.
- Monitor cloud environments and recommend continuous improvements that balance performance and cost efficiency.
- Promote best practices for sustainable cloud resource management across teams.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience working with AWS services in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, or Cloud Architecture role.
- Strong understanding of AWS cost drivers and services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, EKS, ECS, networking, and data platform technologies.
- Experience analyzing cloud utilization data and translating findings into actionable cost optimization recommendations.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, containerized applications, microservices, and modern deployment practices.
- Familiarity with AWS cost management and monitoring tools, including Cost Explorer, Budgets, reporting solutions, and analytics dashboards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to explain technical and financial cloud concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting FinOps, cloud governance, or cloud financial management initiatives is an advantage.
