Job Description

A skilled Backend Engineer with 3–5 years of experience is needed to develop and maintain the backend infrastructure supporting scalable financial products. The role focuses on building reliable APIs, financial systems, integrations, and backend services where performance, security, data integrity, and scalability are critical.

The successful candidate will work on complex engineering challenges involving payments, financial data, distributed systems, third-party integrations, and developer infrastructure while taking ownership of backend systems from design through production.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance, production-grade APIs and backend services.
  • Build reliable financial transaction systems with strong focus on data integrity and correctness.
  • Design backend systems that account for scalability, concurrency, retries, idempotency, failures, and observability.
  • Work with databases, queues, external APIs, and integrations with financial institutions.
  • Take ownership of backend systems across architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Investigate complex production issues and improve system reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Contribute to technical decisions that influence the development and architecture of backend infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop simple and reliable solutions to complex financial problems.

Requirements
  • 3–5 years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • Strong experience developing production APIs and backend systems.
  • Solid understanding of system design, databases, distributed systems, and software architecture.
  • Experience designing reliable systems with considerations for concurrency, idempotency, retries, and failure handling.
  • Strong API design skills and experience integrating third-party services.
  • High standards for code quality, testing, observability, security, and maintainability.
  • Ability to take ownership of technical problems from architecture and implementation through to production.
  • Strong technical judgment and a demonstrated interest in solving complex engineering challenges.
Additional Advantage
  • Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or other industries where system reliability, accuracy, and data integrity are critical.
