Data Analyst
Job Description
AIICO Insurance Plc is looking to hire a Data Analyst to balances technical modeling skills with business-facing insight delivery. It requires designing and optimising BI models and SQL queries, while also working closely with executives and business units to translate requirements into scalable reporting solutions. The complexity lies in ensuring data is not only accurate and well-modeled but also presented in a way that drives decisions, making the role central to AIICO’s goal of embedding a data-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with analysing diverse insurance datasets (claims, policies, production, renewals, payments) to uncover patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Support with building and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using DAX and Power Query/M Query, translating complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.
- Support leadership with evidence-based recommendations that improve customer satisfaction, boost loyalty, reduce compliance risks, and enable data-driven decision-making across SBUs.
- Partner with Claims, Underwriting, Customer Service, and Finance teams to address business needs, design KPIs, and provide guidance on interpreting dashboards and reports.
- Uphold high data quality standards through validation and consistency checks, ensuring reliable insights that inform critical business actions.
- Champion data-driven culture by empowering teams to interpret and act on analytics, fostering an environment where decisions are guided by facts rather than guesswork.
Key Requirements
- HND/B.Sc. in Computer Science or any related discipline.
- Knowledge of SQL & Power BI is an added advantage
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years experience.
