Moniepoint Incorporated is hiring an experienced Data Analyst – Fraud to join its remote team. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional with strong analytical skills and experience in fraud detection, risk analysis, and business intelligence. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify fraud trends, recommend preventive measures, and provide actionable insights that improve fraud management strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate fraud incidents, assess their impact, and present findings to support timely decision-making.
  • Develop and improve rule-based fraud detection and prevention strategies alongside fraud operations and engineering teams.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reports to monitor fraud trends, operational performance, and key metrics.
  • Analyze large datasets using SQL to uncover suspicious patterns and emerging fraud risks.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and fraud operations teams to translate analytical insights into effective solutions.
  • Proactively identify unusual activities and recommend preventive actions before risks escalate.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Data Analyst, Fraud Analyst, or in a similar analytical role. Exceptional achievements may be considered in place of years of experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or financial services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Python or another scripting language for data analysis is an advantage.
  • Experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Superset, Redash, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or equivalent spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present data-driven insights effectively.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and analytical techniques.
  • Experience with data governance or version control tools such as Git is an added advantage.
