Job Description

Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) is seeking an experienced Head of Base to oversee field operations and ensure the effective implementation of humanitarian programs in Borno State. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across operations, finance, logistics, security, administration, and program coordination while representing the organization at the field level. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, local authorities, humanitarian partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure compliant, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all base operations, ensuring programs are implemented efficiently and in line with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, cash planning, accounting processes, and compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Manage human resources, including recruitment support, staff supervision, performance management, capacity building, and employee welfare.
  • Supervise procurement, warehousing, inventory, fleet, asset management, and logistics operations to support field activities.
  • Ensure timely planning, monitoring, and reporting of projects while supporting program quality and effective grant implementation.
  • Represent the organization at coordination meetings with government authorities, humanitarian partners, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Strengthen collaboration between field teams and coordination offices to ensure effective communication and operational alignment.
  • Develop and implement security management plans, monitor the security situation, and ensure staff safety, access, and compliance with security procedures.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress, identify operational challenges, and improve program quality.
  • Provide leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, continuous learning, and adherence to humanitarian principles.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • 4–10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in humanitarian or development operations.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and team supervision skills.
  • Experience managing finance, logistics, administration, and security in field operations.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in challenging and high-risk environments.
Salary
  • N1,242,406 per month
