Head of Control
Job Description
An Oil & Gas firm is looking to hire a Head of Control who is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Transport & Logistics Control Centre to ensure effective monitoring, compliance, visibility, security, and control of fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all activities within the Transport & Logistics Control Centre.
- Establish and maintain a robust 24/7 fleet monitoring and operational control framework.
- Ensure real-time visibility of fleet movements across all operational locations.
- Monitor fleet performance, vehicle utilization, route adherence, and operational exceptions.
- Ensure compliance with company transport policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
- Oversee transport compliance audits, inspections, and periodic reviews.
- Monitor driver documentation, vehicle certifications, licenses, permits, and other statutory requirements.
- Oversee fleet monitoring technologies, telematics devices, GPS systems, and transport control platforms.
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and effective utilization of tracking equipment and supporting infrastructure.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 10–12 years’ experience in transport, logistics, fleet management, control room operations, transport compliance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience managing large-scale fleet operations and transport monitoring functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing a Control Centre or similar real-time operational monitoring environment.
- Strong experience with GPS tracking systems, telematics platforms, fleet management systems, and monitoring technologies.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP is an advantage.
- Experience within logistics, transportation, oil & gas, manufacturing, mining, or other large industrial environments is preferred.
