Job Description
A reputable organization is seeking an experienced Import Officer to manage end-to-end import operations within a manufacturing, FMCG, or logistics-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of import documentation, customs clearance processes, freight management, and Nigerian import regulations while ensuring the timely delivery of imported goods.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete import process from purchase order placement to final delivery.
- Prepare and coordinate import documentation, including Form M, PAAR, Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and SONCAP.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, customs agents, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates on delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Customs regulations, import policies, and international trade requirements.
- Coordinate customs clearance activities to minimize delays, demurrage, and additional costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in import operations within the Manufacturing, FMCG, or Logistics sector.
- Strong knowledge of import documentation, customs procedures, freight management, and Nigerian import regulations.
- Hands-on experience working with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms, along with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Manufacturing or FMCG industries.
- Knowledge of international sourcing and procurement processes.
- Professional certification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Trade is an added advantage.
