Job Description
A firm is seeking a Junior Port Operations Officer to support the smooth coordination of vessel and port activities. The ideal candidate should have experience in a shipping company and practical knowledge of vessel operations, crew changes, husbandry services, and customs procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support vessel berthing and port call activities.
- Assist with crew change arrangements, including documentation and logistics.
- Coordinate husbandry services such as provisions, spares, transportation, and other vessel requirements.
- Liaise with NPA, NIMASA, Customs, terminals, immigration, and other relevant authorities.
- Prepare and process port, vessel, and customs documentation.
- Monitor vessel arrival, berthing, operations, and departure schedules.
- Communicate with ship masters, agents, terminals, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure port operations are carried out efficiently and in line with applicable regulations.
- Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate records.
Key Requirements
- B.Sc./HND in Maritime Studies, Shipping & Port Management, Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ experience in port/shipping operations.
- Experience working with a shipping company or maritime agency is highly preferred.
- Practical experience in vessel berthing, crew change, husbandry, and customs handling.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian port operations and relevant maritime procedures.
- Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to vessel/port operational requirements.
