Job Description

Vennote Technologies Limited is hiring an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to manage and maintain enterprise Unix and Linux environments. This role is ideal for a skilled IT professional with expertise in Linux administration, system security, virtualization, clustering, and infrastructure support. The successful candidate will ensure high system availability, performance, and security while supporting mission-critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, and Solaris environments.
  • Monitor server performance, processor utilization, network traffic, concurrent logins, and storage capacity to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, group policies, and operating system updates, including patch management and kernel tuning.
  • Perform regular system backups and support disaster recovery procedures in line with organizational policies.
  • Troubleshoot complex Linux infrastructure issues, clustered environments, and high availability systems.
  • Collaborate with technology vendors to perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent solutions for critical incidents.
  • Support virtualization platforms and assist with infrastructure technology refresh projects.
  • Work with security teams to implement operating system hardening, security patches, compliance requirements, and audit activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of hands-on experience as a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator.
  • RHCSA or RHCE certification is required.
  • Oracle Solaris and VMware certifications are an added advantage.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, and Solaris administration.
  • Experience with Bash, Python, or Perl scripting for automation and system administration.
  • Knowledge of SELinux, IPTables or Firewalld, CIS benchmarks, and operating system security hardening.
  • Experience using Red Hat Satellite, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or similar patch management tools.
  • Hands-on experience managing virtualization platforms and clustered environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
