Job Description

A Tier 2 Accounting and Advisory firm serving high-growth startups and SMEs across Africa, is seeking a commercially minded Manager, Financial Reporting to lead accounting, finance, and tax engagements while driving operational efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.

 

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₦1,000,000 – ₦1,500,000 Monthly

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate firm strategy into operational plans with senior leadership.
  • Review and improve processes, workflows, internal controls, and performance systems.
  • Review and sign off on major accounting, finance, and tax deliverables.
  • Maintain quality standards across client engagements and resolve service gaps.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage teams while supporting onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Develop internal training programs to address technical gaps.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.
  • Support business development, proposals, pitches, client acquisition, and service expansion.
  • Monitor operational performance and present management reports to leadership.

 

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Chartered Accountant qualification; ACCA preferred.
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting and taxation; audit experience is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS, ISA, and applicable tax laws.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 accounting firm.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High commercial awareness and business acumen.
