Merchant Officer
Job Description
A leading organisation in the banking sector is seeking a Merchant Officer to drive merchant acquisition, activation, and transaction growth within the assigned territory.
Location: Aggrey Road, Port Harcourt
Salary: ₦200,000 Monthly
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, acquire, and onboard qualified merchants within the assigned territory
- Complete merchant KYC, documentation, and account opening requirements
- Deploy and activate payment terminals and drive consistent transaction usage
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants
- Promote and sell merchant financing and other relevant banking products
- Identify opportunities across CASA, collections, vendor financing, AltPower, and other ecosystem solutions
- Monitor merchant activity and provide first-level support for merchant-related issues
- Drive merchant acquisition, activation, and transaction KPIs
- Conduct regular field visits and market engagement activities
- Maintain accurate records and submit timely reports
- Ensure strict compliance with Bank policies, KYC requirements, and operational standards
Key Requirements
- HND or B.Sc.
- Age: 28 years or below
- Male/Female
- Strong sales, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Confident and comfortable with extensive field activities
- Strong customer and relationship management abilities
- Commercially driven and target-oriented
- Ability to identify business opportunities and convert prospects into active merchants
- Previous experience in sales, banking, merchant acquisition, business development, or relationship management is an added advantage
