Job Description

A leading pharmaceutical organization is seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to oversee sales operations, demand generation activities, distributor engagement, and field force performance across assigned territories. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving prescription growth, expanding market presence, and increasing regional revenue performance within the pharmaceutical sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive pharmaceutical sales growth and achieve assigned value and volume targets across designated regions.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales and demand generation initiatives to improve market penetration.
  • Organize and coordinate CMEs, FGMs, scientific engagements, and other healthcare stakeholder activities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and monitor the performance of Medical Sales Representatives within assigned territories.
  • Ensure effective coverage of hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, and Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, healthcare professionals, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor stock movement and minimize product expiry losses within distribution channels.
  • Prepare monthly sales performance reports, market intelligence updates, and territory analysis.
  • Ensure accountability and proper utilization of company assets assigned within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
  • MBA qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical demand generation and sales management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical market development and prescription growth strategies.
