Helium Health is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer with strong expertise in Vue.js and React to build and deliver high-quality web applications that support critical healthcare experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend applications using Vue.js and React.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders to turn product requirements and designs into intuitive user experiences.
  • Build reusable, maintainable, and well-tested UI components and frontend architectures.
  • Contribute to frontend architecture, technical decisions, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs, authentication systems, and other backend services.
  • Manage complex application state using appropriate state-management patterns and tools.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code supported by unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Identify and resolve frontend performance, usability, scalability, and reliability issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve engineering practices.
  • Contribute to technical planning, estimation, sprint planning, and delivery of engineering initiatives.
  • Help improve frontend development standards, tooling, testing strategies, and CI/CD processes.
  • Use AI-powered development tools responsibly to support coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and technical research.
  • Communicate technical decisions effectively with internal and external stakeholders and help drive projects toward successful outcomes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience with at least 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Vue.js and additional experience with React.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern web standards.
  • Experience building reusable UI components and working with component-based frontend architectures.
  • Experience with modern styling technologies such as CSS Modules, Sass/SCSS, PostCSS, Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with vibe coding techniques and the ability to own and coordinate vibe-coding sessions, with evidence demonstrating practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of frontend state management and experience integrating applications with REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, and backend services.
  • Solid knowledge of frontend performance optimization, including rendering performance, bundle optimization, lazy loading, caching, and code splitting.
  • Ability to use AI tools responsibly for code generation, refactoring, debugging, test generation, documentation, and technical research.
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Experience with modern frontend development and build tools such as Vite, Webpack, npm, pnpm, or yarn.
  • Strong experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated software delivery, cloud-based applications, and modern development environments.
  • Good understanding of web accessibility, including WCAG, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience integrating AI-powered features or APIs into frontend applications is an added advantage.
