Senior Mobile Engineer
Job Description
An international television and streaming media house, building a cutting-edge, digital-first platform, launching very soon are looking to hire a Senior Mobile Engineer. It spans a public website, mobile and smart-TV apps, live streaming, and internal newsroom tools.
Key Responsibilities
- App ownership: Take over the existing React Native app from the partner, then operate, fix and extend it.
- Releases: Manage releases and updates to the App Store and Google Play.
- Feature integration: Integrate content, notifications and, later, streaming into the app.
Key Requirements
- Production mobile delivery: At least two apps you personally shipped and kept alive in both stores, in any stack. Tell us what broke and what you did.
- Inherit & extend: You can pick up an unfamiliar codebase, work out how it hangs together, and change it safely. We will test this directly with a code-reading exercise on a React Native repo.
- Release ownership: You have owned store accounts, signing keys and the release process, not just handed builds to someone else.
- Cross-framework fluency: You can explain the trade-offs between React Native, Flutter and native, and you have an opinion you would defend without being dogmatic.
