Job Description
FairMoney Microfinance Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Analyst to drive credit strategy and portfolio performance within its Android lending business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing credit risk strategies that improve profitability while maintaining a healthy lending portfolio. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with credit decisioning, and the ability to collaborate across multiple business functions.
Location: Nigeria (Remote)
Key Responsibilities
- Own the performance of an assigned Android lending workstream, including portfolio growth, profitability, and credit quality.
- Develop and implement credit risk strategies covering customer eligibility, pricing, exposure limits, repayment terms, and customer lifecycle management.
- Conduct data analysis, cohort studies, portfolio monitoring, and controlled experiments to identify growth opportunities and reduce credit risk.
- Translate analytical recommendations into production-ready decision rules, monitor performance after implementation, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Finance, Collections, Fraud, Compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver risk initiatives successfully.
- Prepare reports, forecasts, implementation plans, and documentation while mentoring junior analysts when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in credit risk analysis, lending strategy, portfolio management, or financial risk analytics.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using SQL and data analysis tools to solve business problems.
- Knowledge of credit risk metrics such as Expected Credit Loss (ECL), Non-Performing Loans (NPL), Probability of Default (PD), and portfolio performance indicators.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
