Job Description
Moniepoint Incorporated is hiring an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to help maintain highly reliable, scalable, and efficient systems. This role is ideal for professionals with strong cloud infrastructure, automation, and incident management experience who are passionate about improving system reliability and performance. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams to enhance observability, automate operational processes, and support mission-critical applications.
Location: Nigeria (Remote)
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in on-call rotations to monitor, identify, and resolve service reliability issues across production environments.
- Lead major incident responses by coordinating technical teams, managing communication, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, and monitoring solutions to improve system visibility and performance tracking.
- Develop automation that reduces repetitive operational tasks across infrastructure and applications.
- Implement and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to improve service reliability.
- Investigate and resolve complex customer issues related to application performance, system reliability, and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role supporting enterprise applications.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Go, or Python.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes workloads in cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience using Grafana and application performance monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or SigNoz.
- Solid understanding of monitoring metrics, logs, and distributed tracing.
- Good knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including writing complex queries and troubleshooting performance issues.
