Our National Conversation is a nonpartisan political conversation platform focused on promoting balanced, respectful, and civil discussions across political perspectives in the United States. The organization creates articles, podcasts, events, and digital media content aimed at encouraging productive conversations and reducing political division.

A Social Media Content/Script Writer Intern is needed to create engaging, witty, and creative content for social media platforms. This opportunity is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in creative writing, digital media, politics, and social media storytelling. Candidates with a passion for scriptwriting, humor-driven content, and online engagement are encouraged to apply.

Location: Los Angeles, CA, USA (Remote Eligible)

Responsibilities

  • Write creative scripts, captions, jokes, and short-form content for social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram
  • Develop engaging and relatable content ideas that align with current trends and political-adjacent conversations
  • Collaborate with the Media & Marketing team on social media campaigns, podcasts, and creative projects
  • Assist with brainstorming content concepts for AI animation, digital storytelling, and multimedia productions
  • Participate in scheduled virtual meetings and contribute ideas during team discussions
  • Help maintain a consistent and engaging online presence across multiple platforms

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate in business, journalism, marketing, creative writing, communications, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of major social media platforms and content trends
  • Strong creative writing and storytelling skills with the ability to create witty or humorous content
  • Interest in politics, public discourse, or political-adjacent topics
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Availability for Media & Marketing team meetings held on Tuesdays at 3:30 PM PST
