Job Description
An opportunity exists for seasoned professionals to serve as Independent Investment Committee Members with a leading investment fund focused on renewable energy and infrastructure across Africa. The role involves offering independent oversight, strategic input, and expert judgment to ensure sound investment decisions and long-term portfolio success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in scheduled Investment Committee meetings (monthly in the first two years, transitioning to quarterly thereafter).
- Review investment proposals, due diligence findings, and performance reports.
- Provide objective insights, identify risks, and challenge investment assumptions constructively.
- Contribute to decision-making on transactions to ensure alignment with financial, developmental, and impact goals.
- Support post-investment monitoring through performance review and strategic feedback.
- Commit approximately 20–25 working days annually, including preparation and participation.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or investment.
- Proven track record as a developer or investor in renewable or distributed energy projects.
- Previous involvement in investment, deal, or credit committees, or board-level investment decisions.
- Strong understanding of African markets, policy frameworks, and investment trends.
- Deep knowledge of project development economics, risk assessment, and investment structuring.
- Experience handling mid-sized transactions ($2M–$10M).
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with professional integrity and independence.
Working Arrangement:
- Location: Remote
- Travel: Occasional travel for annual in-person meetings or strategic retreats
Contract Type: 3 years (renewable)
