Job Description
The Engineering Rig Supervisor III serves as the company’s on-site representative, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all drilling and completion activities. This position acts as the primary liaison between the company, rig personnel, and third-party service providers, ensuring seamless coordination of logistics, equipment, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate and reinforce expectations related to Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) while supporting the management of SSHE events.
- Ensure alignment and compliance with Operations Integrity (OI) Systems at the rig site.
- Monitor rig operations and provide feedback to ensure strict adherence to well control procedures and effective response to emergency situations.
- Ensure safety, operational, environmental, and security drills are conducted at required intervals.
- Oversee implementation of approved drilling and completion programs and apply Management of Change (MOC) processes whenever deviations are necessary.
- Coordinate and manage logistics for personnel, equipment, and services required for drilling and completion operations.
- Support operational surveillance activities, including kick detection, pressure abnormalities, torque and drag monitoring, mud properties, and solids control performance.
- Prepare accurate and timely daily operational reports.
- Collaborate with engineering and geology teams to ensure shared understanding of well objectives and program requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Significant experience in rig supervision or rig leadership roles in drilling and completion operations.
- Prior experience working with a major Operator or Drilling Contractor.
- Valid Well Control certification is mandatory.
