Job Description
Codelabprojects Nigeria Limited is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer (Instrumentation & Control) to join its Research and Development unit. This role is suited for a high-performing graduate with strong technical foundations and an interest in applying AI, machine learning, and advanced electrical engineering practices within upstream oil and gas and related technical environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical and instrumentation systems to meet functional and performance requirements.
- Apply AI techniques, including machine learning and pattern recognition, to improve electrical system performance and innovation.
- Develop, prototype, and program electronic circuits using Arduino and other microcontroller platforms.
- Design and optimize printed circuit boards (PCBs) using industry-standard PCB design tools.
- Produce electrical schematics and detailed system designs using AutoCAD.
- Analyze and visualize technical and operational data using Power BI to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams to integrate electrical components into complete systems.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of developed systems and tools.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a First Class or Second Class Upper (2:1) only; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience or strong knowledge of AI applications, including machine learning and pattern recognition.
- Proficiency in Arduino programming and hands-on electronic circuit design and prototyping.
- Practical experience in PCB design and layout optimization.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD for electrical schematics and system design.
- Experience using Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and interest in innovative and emerging technologies.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with additional microcontroller platforms and hardware development tools.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, or similar simulation tools.
- Knowledge of IoT systems and electrical system integration.
- Understanding of electrical safety standards and relevant industry regulations.
- Hands-on experience building and testing electronic components.
