Job Description

Stanbic IBTC Bank is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics and AI solutions across the organization. The role involves collaborating with a team of data scientists to build scalable AI/ML models, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and embedding AI into products, processes, and decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic business insight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development and execution of the bank’s Data Science & AI strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Coordinate a team of data scientists and AI developers to implement AI solutions across business operations.
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of machine learning models, including data sourcing, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Develop predictive, prescriptive, and generative AI models for applications such as credit scoring, fraud detection, personalization, chatbot agents, and process automation.
• Define and implement scalable MLOps and AIOps pipelines for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) and pilot initiatives for innovative AI capabilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s degree and/or professional certifications (e.g., Azure ML, AWS ML, TensorFlow, Databricks, SAS, Microsoft Fabric, agent orchestration) are a plus.
• 5–6 years of experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning.
• Minimum of 3 years in a senior technical role, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Experience with cloud platforms (especially Microsoft Azure) and modern ML/AI tools.
