Senior Medical Officer at Intersect Consortium

Intersect Consortium is recruiting a Senior Medical Officer to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within a structured clinical environment. This role involves direct patient management, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a strong focus on mental health and addiction care.

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: N350,000 – N400,000 monthly (gross)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physical examinations for all patients prior to admission
• Perform regular ward rounds and maintain consistent patient interaction
• Update and maintain accurate clinical records in line with best practices
• Document diagnoses in accordance with ICD standards on EMR systems
• Explain diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans to patients and their families
• Respond promptly to clinical requests from consultants, doctors, and nursing staff
• Carry out medical procedures such as cannulation, IV infusions, and drug administration
• Prepare and file discharge summaries within 24 hours of patient discharge
• Ensure all discharged patients attend follow-up consultations within 7 days
• Run follow-up clinics and support patient retention in care programs
• Participate in on-call duties and support community patient outreach when required

Requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or equivalent)
• Evidence of NYSC completion or exemption
• Valid and up-to-date MDCN license
• Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC clinical experience
• Strong interest in mental health and addiction care
• Prior experience in mental health settings is an added advantage
• Exposure to non-clinical or multidisciplinary environments is desirable
