Job Description
Jamub Group of Companies is recruiting a qualified Civil Engineer (Buildings) to oversee structural and civil engineering activities across building construction projects. The role requires hands-on site supervision experience, strong technical expertise in structural engineering, and the ability to ensure projects meet quality, safety, budget, and timeline requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance and buildability before project execution.
- Supervise civil and structural construction activities including excavation, foundation works, reinforced concrete structures, slabs, staircases, retaining walls, and drainage systems.
- Monitor concrete works, reinforcement placement, material quality, batching, pouring, curing, and testing procedures to maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate setting-out activities, grid lines, levels, and structural alignments to ensure construction accuracy.
- Track project progress, identify delays, and support the development of recovery plans alongside the Project Manager.
- Supervise subcontractors, conduct site inspections, issue site instructions, and document non-conformance reports where necessary.
- Maintain accurate site records including inspection reports, concrete pour records, material registers, and project documentation.
- Liaise with architects, consultants, and design teams to resolve technical issues and prevent construction delays.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of B.Sc, B.Tech, or HND in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering or Construction Management is an added advantage.
- COREN registration is required, while NSE membership is expected.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or SMSTS are an added advantage.
- 5–8 years of practical civil and structural engineering experience on multi-storey residential, commercial, or institutional projects in Nigeria.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction site supervision.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, road design software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings accurately.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Nigeria when required.
