Senior Finance Officer (Mid Level)

Job Description

A reputable company in the engineering and project-based industry is seeking a skilled Senior Finance Officer to support financial operations, project accounting, treasury management, statutory compliance, and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, practical experience in project finance, and the ability to provide accurate financial insights that support operational and strategic business decisions.

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and supporting financial reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and process journal entries and ledger adjustments.
• Monitor project expenditures, prepare profitability reports, and track budgets against actual spending.
• Support project managers with financial analysis, cost control, and budget variance reporting.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and manage approved vendor and staff payments.
• Review invoices, reconcile customer and supplier statements, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Assist with annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and departmental spending analysis.
• Prepare statutory remittances including PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension, NHF, and NSITF while ensuring timely regulatory compliance.
• Support audit processes and strengthen internal financial control procedures.
• Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is required.
• 4–6 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Experience in engineering, construction, oil and gas, procurement, or project-based industries is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Salary: N400,000 – N450,000 monthly.
