Job Description
Dangote Cement is recruiting a highly experienced Head – Finance, Inventory to lead inventory finance operations across its production facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing inventory planning, control, monitoring, and reporting to ensure optimal stock levels, support production requirements, and improve overall operational efficiency. This role requires strong financial management expertise, strategic planning capabilities, and extensive experience in inventory and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement inventory management strategies that optimize stock levels and support uninterrupted production activities.
• Monitor inventory parameters, including reorder levels and safety stock requirements, to maintain an effective balance between supply and demand.
• Conduct periodic inventory audits and physical stock counts while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Establish and enforce inventory control procedures to reduce losses resulting from theft, damage, wastage, or obsolete stock.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and inventory items.
• Negotiate favorable supplier agreements that support efficient inventory management and cost optimization.
• Work closely with production, sales, procurement, and logistics teams to forecast demand and plan inventory requirements.
• Prepare and present inventory performance reports, including stock accuracy, turnover rates, and inventory valuation.
• Provide management with recommendations for improving inventory processes and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, internal policies, and safety standards relating to inventory management and warehouse operations.
Requirements
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or a related qualification.
• Minimum of eighteen (18) years of relevant professional experience.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong understanding of trends, regulations, opportunities, and challenges within the cement manufacturing industry.
• Sound knowledge of microeconomic and macroeconomic factors affecting business performance.
• Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Strong accounting and finance expertise, including knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Hands-on experience using SAP and other financial management systems.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and team development skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, networking, and facilitation abilities.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
