Amadeus University Amizi is recruiting a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to support the University’s financial management and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, supporting budgeting processes, and contributing to effective financial governance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and present financial statements, management accounts, and periodic financial reports.
  • Maintain the University’s general ledger and ensure all accounting records are accurate and up to date.
  • Manage payroll processing, payments, bank reconciliations, and other financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and institutional accounting policies.
  • Coordinate annual budget preparation and monitor budget performance throughout the financial year.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing financial records and liaising with auditors.
  • Review and approve financial transactions in line with established financial control procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to promote efficiency and professional development.
  • Provide financial analysis and advisory support to management for informed decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure financial records remain audit-ready.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting from a recognized university.
  • Professional accounting certification such as ACCA, ACA, ICAN, or ANAN is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience in accounting or finance.
  • NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
