Job Description

A reputable company in the oil and gas industry is seeking an experienced Site IT Officer to oversee and support ICT infrastructure at its project site in Calabar. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining IT systems, ensuring network reliability, supporting end users, and implementing infrastructure solutions that keep business operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to end users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, IP phones, and other end-user devices.
  • Administer Windows environments, including Active Directory, Group Policies, and Microsoft 365.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine system health checks, and system performance monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory, documentation, and operational records.
  • Ensure compliance with ICT policies, security standards, and operational procedures.
  • Install, configure, and support LAN/WAN infrastructure, including managed switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and VLANs.
  • Carry out structured cabling installations, fiber optic connectivity, and network testing.
  • Monitor network availability, performance, and reliability while resolving connectivity issues.
  • Support server room deployments, LAN expansion projects, communication racks, UPS systems, and network cabinets.
  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of CCTV systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of hands-on experience in ICT infrastructure and technical support.
  • Practical experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining CCTV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Hands-on experience managing LAN/WAN infrastructure, networking equipment, and structured cabling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues effectively.
  • Experience working with multiple vendors and supporting business-critical IT environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
