Job Description

Kennedia Consulting Limited (KCL) is seeking a highly experienced Compliance Officer to oversee and strengthen its compliance framework within the asset management industry. The successful candidate will ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, maintain ethical business practices, manage regulatory relationships, and support the organization’s governance and risk management objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with the Investments and Securities Act (ISA), SEC Rules, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports while coordinating regulatory inspections and responding to enquiries.
  • Monitor business operations and investment activities to identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to AML/CFT, KYC, CDD, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements.
  • Maintain and periodically review compliance manuals, policies, and governance documentation.
  • Monitor conflicts of interest, insider trading controls, and related-party transactions.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring, risk assessments, staff training, and maintain the Compliance Risk Register.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory authorities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or an MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants with compliance experience in Microfinance Banks (MFBs) are encouraged to apply, even without the required SEC licence, as sponsorship for the licence will be provided to the successful candidate.
  • Experience as an Assistant Compliance Officer within the Asset Management industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC Rules, the Investments and Securities Act (ISA), AML/CFT regulations, and corporate governance practices.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Salary

N600,000 – N800,000 per month
