Job Description

Viabonam Corporate Services is seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to oversee overall business performance, with responsibility for production, sales, operations, and commercial growth. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring efficient manufacturing, strong quality standards, effective team management, and profitable growth across retail, corporate, hospitality, and institutional sales channels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee factory operations, ensuring production output, material availability, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently achieved.
• Establish and enforce quality control standards covering incoming materials, production processes, finishing, and final inspection.
• Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and product returns, implementing appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Drive sales growth across retail, corporate, hospitality, institutional, and property developer channels.
• Recruit, structure, develop, and manage teams across production, quality control, sales, and administration.
• Set and monitor performance targets covering production output, defect rates, sales revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Negotiate major supplier, client, and contract agreements to support business objectives.
• Maintain accurate business records, financial controls, operational systems, and regular management reports.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, business partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Provide regular performance reports and strategic updates to the Managing Director across all business functions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience, including senior general management or business leadership experience in furniture manufacturing or a related industry.
• Proven experience managing full P&L responsibility across production and commercial functions.
• Strong background in manufacturing and production operations, including materials management, production planning, and output optimization.
• Hands-on experience developing and implementing quality control systems, including inspection standards, defect tracking, and corrective action processes.
• Strong sales leadership experience across retail, B2B contract, hospitality, and institutional markets.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong financial management, budgeting, and cost-control skills.
• Good knowledge of the furniture and interiors market in Abuja and surrounding markets.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for business performance.
