Job Description

The Area Business Manager will oversee regional operations for the SCALE mPower solution, a financial service designed to support transportation workers with access to credit for vehicle maintenance and fueling. This role focuses on managing field operations, coordinating loan activities, building relationships with transport stakeholders, and ensuring strong regional performance.

Location: Ilupeju, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: N500,000 – N600,000 per month

Job Responsibilities

  • Onboard and manage transport parks within the assigned region, ensuring compliance with operational standards
  • Build and maintain relationships with park chairmen, cluster leaders, and key stakeholders
  • Recruit, train, and supervise Customer Account Managers (CAMs) to ensure high performance
  • Monitor CAM activities, provide coaching, and enforce accountability measures where necessary
  • Coordinate loan disbursement and oversee collections across all parks in the region
  • Track repayment trends and escalate defaults or operational issues promptly
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure compliance, verify activities, and detect risks or fraud
  • Prepare and submit weekly performance reports, including KPIs such as loan conversions and repayment rates
  • Handle customer and stakeholder escalations, ensuring timely resolution and feedback

Job Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in field-based or regional operations roles
  • At least 2 years of experience in field operations, agent management, or grassroots project execution
  • Proven ability to recruit and manage field agents or similar roles
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Solid sales and persuasion abilities
  • Ability to manage teams and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in digital lending, microfinance, or agent network operations
  • Knowledge of field verification and community-based structures
  • Familiarity with mobile apps, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
