Job Description

A microfinance firm is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function of a dynamic finance/microfinance organization. The successful candidate will provide strategic HR leadership, strengthen people and performance systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive initiatives that support business growth and employee engagement.

‎Location: Lagos
Salary: ₦600,000 monthly
Employment Type: Full-Time

‎Key Responsibilities

  • ‎Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • ‎Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
  • ‎Lead performance management, employee engagement, retention, and talent development initiatives.
  • ‎Handle employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, and workplace investigations.
  • ‎Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • ‎Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • ‎Partner with management to address workforce and organizational development needs.
  • ‎Monitor HR metrics and provide actionable reports and insights to management.
  • ‎Identify learning and development needs and coordinate relevant training programs.
  • ‎Manage succession planning and career development initiatives.
  • ‎Support organizational restructuring, change management, and culture-building initiatives.
  • ‎Ensure accurate and effective HR documentation and records management.

Key ‎Requirements

  • ‎Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • ‎Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, PHR, or equivalent is required.
  • ‎Minimum of 7 years’ progressive HR experience, with experience at managerial level.
  • ‎Previous experience in banking, microfinance, fintech, lending, financial services, or a related regulated industry is highly desirable.
  • ‎Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • ‎Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • ‎Strong knowledge of performance management, employee relations, recruitment, and HR operations.
  • ‎Ability to work strategically while maintaining strong attention to operational details.
  • ‎Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/HR management systems.
  • Previous experience in the Financial sector is a must please.
