Job Description

A Transaction Monitoring Analyst is needed to support fraud detection and prevention efforts within a fast-growing fintech environment. The role focuses on identifying suspicious transactions, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with fraud, compliance, and investigation teams to safeguard customer accounts and maintain the integrity of financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review transaction alerts generated by fraud detection systems in real time
  • Investigate suspicious, fraudulent, or unusual transaction patterns across customer accounts
  • Apply risk-based judgment to escalate, restrict, reclassify, or close accounts where necessary
  • Draft and review Suspicious Transaction/Activity Reports (STR/SARs) in line with regulatory requirements
  • Place and manage account restrictions or liens when fraud risks are identified
  • Engage customers, internal stakeholders, and financial institutions to obtain required information
  • Maintain clear documentation and accurate audit trails in case management systems
  • Meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards for case resolution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, or a related field
  • 3–4 years of experience in transaction monitoring, compliance, fraud investigation, fraud examination, or customer service within Banking, Finance, Insurance, or FinTech
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and fraud detection processes
  • Proficiency in using fraud detection tools and transaction monitoring systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of payment transaction trends and account statement analysis
  • Relevant certifications such as CAMS, CFE, or DCP are an added advantage
