Job Description
A leading innovation centre in Africa is seeking a strategic and experienced professional to fill the position of Head of Investments. This role will drive investment strategy, support startups through funding processes, and oversee portfolio management across incubation, acceleration, and venture programs. Ideal for candidates with deep expertise in venture capital, startup financing, and investment operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of the organisation’s overall investment strategy and fundraising initiatives.
- Develop and manage investment readiness support programs for startups, including pitch sessions, training, and investor engagement.
- Oversee the performance and growth of the current investment portfolio, providing value-added support to portfolio companies.
- Source, structure, and execute deals through syndicates, growth capital initiatives, and innovation-linked programs.
- Manage investor relations, capital mobilisation, and ensure alignment with innovation and growth goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, startup funding, or similar fields.
- Demonstrated ability to develop investment readiness tools and support early-stage startups.
- Strong knowledge of African startup ecosystems and current funding trends.
- Experience in deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management.
- Leadership background with proven team management and strategic advisory skills.
