Job Description

Divergent Energy Services Nigeria Limited is a growing energy services company providing solutions to the oil and gas industry. As part of its expansion strategy, the company is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth, secure strategic partnerships, and strengthen its presence across the Nigerian oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement teams, contract managers, and decision-makers within International Oil Companies (IOCs), National Oil Companies (NOCs), and independent operators.
  • Manage the complete business development pipeline and provide sales forecasts, market intelligence, and growth reports to management.
  • Lead commercial bidding processes, including pricing strategies, man-hour rates, rental tariffs, and bid submissions.
  • Develop project costing models and conduct profitability assessments before bid submission.
  • Represent the company during bid clarification meetings, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Review and negotiate commercial agreements, service level agreements, memoranda of understanding, and contract terms to minimize risk and improve financial outcomes.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the energy sector.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA, Master’s Degree, or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business Development, Commercial Analysis, Bid Management, or Tender Management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial bidding processes, contract negotiations, and project costing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and pricing evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for executive presentations and business proposals.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
