Job Description

A leading consulting and investment-focused organization is seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to drive revenue growth, expand market reach, and build strategic partnerships across Africa’s manufacturing and industrial sectors. This role is suited for a commercially driven professional with strong cross-sector experience and a proven ability to structure and close high-value deals within complex business environments.

Location: Lagos / Remote
Employment Type: Full-time / Senior Management
Salary: N700,000 – N800,000 monthly

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with revenue and growth targets
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline across industries such as manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, agro-allied, and cosmetics
  • Identify, qualify, and close high-value business and investment opportunities
  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity
  • Establish and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), DFIs, government agencies, and institutional stakeholders
  • Lead client engagements from prospecting through to deal closure and long-term relationship management
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, pitch decks, and commercial offers across multiple sectors
  • Structure and negotiate partnerships, contracts, and investment deals
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between business development efforts and execution capacity
  • Lead and manage the business development team to drive performance and results
  • Track performance metrics including revenue, pipeline growth, and win rates, and provide regular reports to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA is an added advantage)
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Business Development, Commercial Strategy, or a related role
  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals across multiple industries
  • Strong experience across sectors including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture/agro-allied, food and beverages, cosmetics, and investment/advisory
  • Experience working within or alongside a multi-sector consulting or investment firm is highly preferred
  • Solid understanding of African market dynamics and business environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams
